    Default 2nd year/ 20k service

Took my 1.9cdti for its 2nd year service yesterday, its done 35k and its 2years old. looking at the service book and looking at the car, my 'gut feeling' is they havenít done everything that needed to be done, like for instance, im pretty certain they havenít took the wheels off to check the brakes, also according to the book its supposed to have a fuel filter but they havenít ticked it off in the book to confirm its done. Are they supposed to do these things or is it, IF it needs to be done then it is done? On past dealings with main dealer servicing, you have to be 1 step ahead of them or you WILL get ripped off.

Depends, is the fuel filter needed at 35k/2 years? If it goes on a ramp the brakes can be checked without taking the wheels off.
Now I need a turbo to keep up!

Main Stealer should have given you an itemised invoice/receipt ...

Every part replaced should be listed, all labour times should be listed, you should also have received the fitters crib sheet of all the checks carried out.

If it ain't listed it 's not been done. Since the introduction of the high mileage/low mileage service intervals there is some confusion over what items are checked and/or replaced at what service interval.

If you want a proper job doing, DIY

Having done my own brakes recently, the only way I could manage to check the inner rear pad thickness was to have the caliper off.

according to book, yes it needs to be done. it may have been changed, on the receipt it says, 3 'filter elements' have been changed, but it doesnt say which ones

would have loved to have taken it somewhere else, only took it to vaux for stamp in book for warranty

i doubt they checked the rear inner pads, just the outers hoping the wear would be even, even though its probably not. Could have been done with a mirror?
