    Default Dreaded Intake Manifold

After a bit of advice really people, I have had the loss of power symptom but hadn't really taken much notice as it happened over a period of time. Over Xmas it has got progressively worse until total power loss in first and second gear happened.
I went out to the car yesterday with just cleaning the EGR valve in mind but upon looking my swirl valve bar was just lying on top of the engine. I carried out the mod with the screw caps and refitted it all ok. I then cleaned both the EGR & Boost sensor which where both filthy. I then started the car and it was running terrible, I took it for a spin hoping to clear its self but nothing. This morning I can't even get it to run!
The fourth swirl pot is really greasy on the top and there is some upward movement in the 1, 2 & 4. I'm going to ring VX tomorrow tell them my story and go from there, I will be expecting them to fork out for some of the bill once I throw so info at them!!
Can anyone tell me weather it means the valves are knackered is the reason it won't run, I have never had any lights on my dash. I'm considering taking the bar back off to see if it will run at least to get me to work tomorrow.

I've just had mine inlet manifold/EGR replaced under extended warranty - I'd had never had any warning lights & it didn't drive noticably any different. The diagnosis was done purely after I asked Vx to check the car over before the warranty expired!!

I've never heard of this affecting the valves!

I've taken the bar off again and it starts and runs, its a bit lumpy but at least it will get me to work. There is smoke coming from the fourth swirl valve which i guess is my problem.
See what joy I egt from VX tomorrow hey!!

Its gone to vauxhall today, they quoted me £893:62 this morning, they did say that if they had it in and diagnosed themselves they would be able to claim against Vauxhall. They are changing the electric drive module as part of the job as well, I have read of some dealers saying that it's not required to be changed. I'll hear from them tomorrow so hopefully the bill will be much reduced!!

The dealer didn't change the electric drive module on mine - Vauxhall eventually agreed after the having the Pierburg Service Information pdf quoted to them, so now it's going back later this week for the extra work.

They have mentioned that they will want proof of service history, did they ask this for your discount to apply? I have had the service's done since I've owned the car but not sure before, its on that flex service which I don't really understand.

I had mine done and yes they did ask for proof of full Vx service history. They took photocopies of the pages in the service book to send to Vx.
