    Default New wheel colour

    Hi guys

Finally decided to get painting now its not so cold. I was debating what colour to do them so I made up my mine. Some before pics (these wheels where in a bad way tbh) They still need lacquer it then start all over on the next one. Thankfully this was the worst of the 4 that I done first.

Firstly washed the wheel, then cleaned with wonder wheels to remove any brake dust, tar etc. Then rubbed it down with wet and dry to remove any flakey paint. Filled any chips with isopon metalik. Then primer (acid etch) and the more rubbing down (repeated about 3 times using normal gray primer). Then 3 coats of silver so far maybe up to 6 then the same of laquer. Might do a how 2 with the next one if it helps.

I wanted this darker silver so I used gray primer with Simoniz 5 wheel Silver Acrylic. Tried white primer first but I made the silver brighter.
