Yes fair enough they are lowering by using weight but is their much difference between that and a Vec slammed on coilovers?

I reckon lower is lower whatever the reason. The higher car rides up above the smash whereas the lower car dives down into the thick of it & sustains more damage as a consequence!!

That is an eye opener. Can't really argue with the physics & results there - for two cars which are almost the same anyway.
However, this will also happen if you hit a bigger, taller car head on (say a Range Rover).

This is an eye opener but even if you dont lower you car and say for example 4 people are in your vec and you crash head on into another vec that has 1 person, its going to be the same thing. Although lowering your car does increase your risk it can happen to anyone depending on what car they hit.

On the subject of coilovers, I really don't see the point of them on a road car. Lowered cars do look good, but coilovers offer no advantage over a decent conventional set like Bilstein Dampers and Eibach springs.

100% with you on that Maverick. Fair enough on a track car or whatever but with the way our roads are coilovers aren't practical
