    Default Heated Seats Question?

    Hi

Excellent forum -I have been lurking around in the background for some time - thought I'd get some work done on the car while I have the chance!

I have an 05 Vectra Elite Estate it has heated seats in the front (excellent in this weather) I would like to know if it is possible to put heat pads and switches in the rear seats, I think there blanks for the switches in the back of the centre console / armrest, not sure if the loom or pads are already there?

Any Help or info would be great

    Cheers Elkesprint

My old '56 plate design had the loom for heated rear seats, at least the connectors were below the bench. I'd guess you won't have the pads fitted though. I had heated seats in my 03 elegance, the one thing I couldn't get as an option on the design. Got them in the new Avensis though

Thanks for the replies chaps - all very useful.

I have now found the "HOW 2" Section which cover the fitting of the seat pads and it appears that I have the wiring already in place so it will be a matter of getting the kit together to install it.

    Cheers Elksprint.

P.s Does the rear bench seat just clip or is there more to it?

It's clipped in place, needs a good single sharp tug to unclip it, if you pussy foot around you will break the plastic clips or even bend the metal work underneath

There is a how to already! It takes a long time to remove and refit the leather, and as cameraman states it's easy to bust the clips or bend the metal frame (i did both). Once the pads, switches and surround are fitted, you also need to fit some relays in the REC (don't recall the location or value) and some fuses as well. Once all working they are nice, about as powerful as the fronts on position one. They are handy if you know you're picking someone up in the back, you can prewarm them for them and they usually appreciate it! They will always turn off with the ignition, so you can't leave them on like the fronts.
