    Vectra / Signum ?
    What trim level ?
    What mileage ?
    Any history ?
    Any damage ?
    Standard / modified ?
    Private / trade ?
... £3700 is a decent price for a higher level model in excellent condition with a good history.... but a lousy price for a low-end model that's been messed around with, covered in spoilers and other bling.

More details of the model would be helpfull, but on the whole the 3.0 V6 CDTi is a pretty strong engine as long as you don't tune it.

There don't tend to be many base models with the 3.0 V6 CDTI engine, most tend to be SRI or Elite

its had 2 owners.full history.hpi clear.sri trim, vectra hatchback .but its an auto with 110,000 miles and its red.looks standard. would that sort of mileage put anyone else off????or are they a really strong engine.they are offering a 6 month warranty.

    Service history
At what dates and intervals, who carried them out, are there receipts
Was the cambelt changed at (or before) 100K miles

    It's a relaitvely "strong" engine
I bought this for the reliability but it isn't really any different than any other engine
Typically if and when anything does go wrong it is expensive, VERY expensive
Equally, it is best to find a local diesel mechanic who has experience of the Y30DT engine
Mine has only suffered from blocked SCV, this is quite an involved job and includes a EMS update
** Check to see if this EMS udpate has been performed **
If not, then ask for them to check Field Remedy 1057

A 6 month warranty is better than nothing (especially with over 100K miles)
However, who provides it, what are the terms, and what (if anything) is covered

    Finally, haggle hard
Not many people want these engines as they see them as fuel guzzlers and high on RFL (Tax Disc)
If there is no trade in involved, then start at £2700, don't go above £3250

As you have found, there aren't many around
They didn't sell very well as there were better alternatives for company car drivers and for the private market the 1.9 CDTI appeared better value

I waited several weeks to find one that was under two years old and not yet had its first service
I did manage to find a few that were under two years old, but they were all in the 40K miles (or higher)
Ironically, mine had been sitting at a VX dealership just a few miles away but was not on their sales list!
