So went from TID to GID this afternoon
Ripped the top of the dash out, tidied some other stuff like the ex-police wiring snipped behind and making the radio difficult to push home.
Had a couple of problems.
1) Was a complete wimp and couldn't get the plastic separated on the 32 pin connector block so I couldn't swap the connectors round. As I'd been given a long length of cables with the 32 pin plug I stripped back and connected to a choc-block, then pulled the pins out of the TID plug (which separated easily), then just connected the pins to the choc block.
2) MHBCBV advised that he didn't think op-com could change the code-index. It did and it worked fine. He also said I'd need to reset the CIM, this was true and I did this without any bother (had done it before and it's a scary moment when you have to re-program keys and immobiliser). All done stalk configured.
3) It's now all working but I think the secondhand stalk is ******ed or the contacts need cleaning, the up button doesn't work everything else does! Might have to buy a new one from VX, which is what I should've done in the first place.
As you can see from the pictures, it's all working. Have to drive to Reading and back this evening (140 mile round trip), so I can see if it works as well as my previous Vectra.
