    Default Warranty Info

My signum is a 54 plate, and i'm totally confused about the warranty situation.

I presume i've got a 3yr manufacturers warranty, but I'm getting network q letters saying that my warranty's about to run out...!

so my question is....what the hell is warrantied!

do I renew the network q one?, would I gain anything by it?

Are there any way of keeping a warranty going on a vehicle after the manufacturers one runs out? can you warranty a vehicle year by year for everything that would be covered normally?

Sorry if this has been covered before but I'm clueless!

You've got 3 years manufacturers warranty.. but it's a decreasing cover one.. the letters are because your network Q is about to run out..They should be offering you an extension to it.. They did for me and it was Circa£80-90 for the year..This means i get the full..' we'll do anything' cover for another 12 months, rather than having to twist the dealers arm to get him to even book it in..

you can keep on extending it, past year 3 of the manufactureres..Duncan has just done it...Cost him a whole hell of a load more....several hundreds..

I tend not to extend myself, after the 1st yr you lose on things, but the main stuff is still covered, i.e engine, gearbox etc, the cost of extending is a gamble, if the car is fine you are in front, if it has to go in and its not covered you lose.

    See this thread Brucey.

You can extend your Network Q up to the same expiry date as your Vx warranty for not a lot of money. You can also extend Network Q cover past the Vx warranty date (even if you let the original 12 months Network Q cover expire). This will cost £599 and I'm about to do it (I think! lol). If you leave it until after the Vx warranty expires, you can still get the Network Q cover but it'll cost you more!

The main things you lose after Year 1 of the Vx warranty are paintwork and trim.

Yeah. I think I'll have to do it.. I'm going to be with the car for quite a while, so £600 a year for not worrying about it sounds like the sensible option especially when I seem to be doing about 30k a year!..Silly money repair bills are something I just can't do with! right now

Get the Warranty. I'm getting rid of my car the minute the warranty is up. I'll be getting something reliable like an Alfa Romeo or Fiat next.......
