I too had trouble separating the bumper from the wings of my facelift Vectra. I discovered that once you remove the upper of the two screws in the wheel arch, you need to put a screwdriver in the hole and push inwards. This moves the plastic slide that locks the wing to the bumper.

Thanks Big Dave - I'll remember that for next time. It popped off the NS quite easily, but took a bit to get off the drivers side, and by lifting it upwards seem to help it release.

Forgot about the parking sensors they keep the bumper very close to the car, but didn't disconnect as just wanted to take headlight out.
