    Default Half and Full Can-Bus ....How can you tell???

    As the title says? how can you tell the differnce? mine has no steering wheel controls whatsoever though. its a late pre face 2004 2.0 DTi Energy.



    also what does full can-bus give you over half?

    If your radio model starts with a CD** number then its full canbus. If its CCR* then its half canbus. Only difference is the radio/headlights are on the canbus network too.

    I think "button" steering wheel controls for your radio will be half canbus and the "rocker wheels" is full canbus.

    Full canbus did'nt arrive until mid to late 2005 on pre-facelift cars.

    errr... My 54 GSi shows a build date of Oct 04... electronically all the ECUs report as 05 MY build.... I have 'buttons & wheels' on the steering wheel and from what others have said I've assumed it's full CanBus.....

    OP's steering wheel doesn't have any buttons - hence why he's asking if there another way to tell.

    The model year starts 1st August each year - so any car built between 1st August 2004 and 31st July 2005 is a 2005 model year REGARDLESS of year of registration.

    Mine too.. It's a 54 plate Club, I've even got the flat-blade wiper as well. I don't care how old the ECU is, I just want the damn thing to work properly
