Default Single to twin Y piece question...

    Hi all,

My back box on 2.2 DTi SRi is on its last legs so was thinking of going twin exit

Can anyone tell me how much the "Y" piece should cost me? is it an off the shelf part or do I need to get one made up at Powerflow for example?

Any downsides to a twin... loss of power etc.

    Thanks all

    Jon

ps.... happy new year to all.

couple of options, Irmscher Y piece at around £160 or standard Vauxhall centre section at about £290.......standard rear boxes are around £240 each......

Cheapest option would be secondhand or breakers.......failing that I'm looking into a Scorpion group buy.....details to follow.

I believe Irmscher do a Y piece but is quite pricey and hard to get hold of. I am sure the part number is on here somewhere, it has been asked for quite a lot if I remember correctly.

To be honest I think the Y piece will cost you nearly half the cost of a full twin Powerflow SS system, you might be better going that way??!! (my twin powerflow catback VXR stlye was £350 all in)

you can get a powerflow made for around £170 with tails. they will take the box out completely. I have had this done on my 2.2dti (pics in my garage) not much difference to power or noise unless you plant the foot

    Thanks for the replys chaps,

Keithy, is that a complete twin rear silencer exhaust? seems very cheap but worth looking into at that price.

I'm watching some Stainless rear boxes for a Dti at the moment hence enquiry about the "Y" piece.
