So I was sitting and waiting near the tube station, parked in a parking space which I'd reversed into as I usually do.
You know how you just sit there and watch people in your rear view mirror whilst you are bored waiting. On the opposite side of the road and slightly back this guy pulls into a large-ish space mounts the kerb and bangs the BMW 7 series in front and it moves forward a bit (quite something for a big heavy car). So now I'm watching to see what he actually does, he then continues his parking and smacks it again even harder.
He gets out his car and without looking back starts to wander over and coming past me, I shout him over and ask him what he's going to do. He just said it was just a kiss, to which I replied then why the hell did it shoot forward?
I started to tell him that he should leave a note in case there was damage or attempt to find the owner (this was a street with a few shops in, not many open except the hairdressers right next to the car).
He just said I'm not from this country, (he was chinese in appearance) and said he was from America, to which I said then you really should no better as people would attack you for less.
He then started rambling on about how he was only stopping to get a train ticket and he wouldn't be long (maybe he thought I was a traffic warden). I explained that I really wasn't interested in why he was here, but that he should do something. So I got out, strolled across the road, into the hairdressers and asked if any of them owned the BMW parked immediately outside. The owner of the hairdressers explained it was hers. They came outside and had a look, as it happened there wasn't anything noticeable, but they took his details anyway.
OK, so this wasn't a major thing, but after what happened to me with my car and it was written off by some idiot who drove off (and thought they'd get away with it, not how it's actually panning out but I digress), I do have kind of a personal interest in this area.
What do you think? Did I over-react? I think this guy thought I did.
Oh and not to stereotype, but he was driving a Toyota Avensis. Spookily after he left a Nissan Qashqai, reversed into the self same space in one!
