Factory Fit Alarm

Hi Quick question

when the alarm goes off do the indicators flash at the same time, just now i thought i heard a car alarm go off? i had a look out the window accross the car park at my Vectra C and didnt see any lights flashing so presumed it wasn't mine, the alarm also only sounded in intervals of say 20 second bursts

cool so its safe to say it wasnt mine, and i dont have to go out in the rain, its stopped now though

I'm surprised you heard it, what with the power sounder being in the boot. It's not the noisiest of alarms.

I take it you've tried deliberately setting it off to see how crap the noise is?

If you disconnect the alarm sounder the car uses the car main horn by default only problem is the warning (Safe) on the display and the fact that you have to cancel it every time and that can be annoying.

Hi
I have heard the alarm going off before as once the car would not unlock using the fob, so i had to unlock the door manually and when I did the alarm went off, but it was VERY quiet, i thought it was very feeble - but i havnt disconnected anything yet to use the horn
I know i ahould RTFM but im not at home at the moment - if the alarm was to go off, and then was silenced (by itself) how would you know when returning to the car - would the little red light be illuminated on the interior disable switch?

You wouldn't.

I used to have a META alarm fitted to a Cavalier that flashed up a different LED sequence if the alarm was triggered while you were away from the car. You could tell if the ultrasonics, boot, bonnet, doors or current drain had triggered the alarm.
