I know I know, I swore I would never have another Audi after the last sham of a new A3 S-Line 2.0T we bought 3 1/2 years ago.

We have had our Freelander 2 HSE nearly 2 1/2 years and should be looking to change it towards the back end of 2010, so have been looking round.

I still may opt for another Freelander 2 HSE but in Auto next time. But I have been looking around.

It has to be big enough to pull the caravan and be an Estate. An Insignia VXR Sports Tourer was a good choice but Mrs Mav does not like anything VXR due to how they look.

So....................................Although it may make me look like a total hypocrite.

I would love a Range Rover Sport, but I would not buy the 2.7 TDV6 as you really have to push it to get anything out of it. (I had one for a week before Christmas. So it would have to be the TDV8 but there too expensive at the moment. Got a budget of no more than £30k so a TDV8 would be too expensive.

Servicing on a TDV8 is also £150 more than the TDV6, which is already £500 for the major service and £350 for the small service.

How much are the new discovery 3's with the 3.0TDV6?

They start at £33k for the 3.0 TDV6, but I would only have the HSE and they are from £47000. Too rich for me.

The s4 will probably be alot more fun to drive anyway Although i do have a soft spot for 4x4's
