Unhappy sri suspension any better on a 2.2 direct ls?

    Hi

I drive a 2004 vectra C hatch which is the 2.2 direct. The car handles so badly, it's the worst handling car I've ever driven It just understeers everywhere and the body rolls all over the place

It's a company car so I can't mess about with it really so I wondered if sri suspension is much better and worth upgrading to? Is the sri suspension any lower and will it understeer less?

    Thanks

The SRi suspension will lower it 20mm and the different dampers improve the handling as well.

You'll notice an improvement over the LS set-up. You'll notice an even better improvement with the likes of the Irmscher kit or another third party set-up!

Sadly I can't go any further due to it being a lease car. I reckon I could get away with sri suspension without anyone noticing but wondered what a sri handled like because I've only driven the ls.

I test drove an elegance before buying the SRi, handling is like chalk and cheese, you would notice a huuuuge improvement with SRi setup, though it still understeers, even with 19`s on ...

I don't think Vauxhall thought about handling when they made the vectra

It's a really good car but it's let down by the handling I drive through the lanes on my way to work and my traction control light is always on in the bends even if I'm off the throttle. You then have to sit there until it realises that you have grip before it'll give you power back There is no front end grip at all.

my sri (2.2 04 plate) is ok going through the twisties. yeah it does understeer but i have come along some b roads at silly speeds and have yet to light the traction control light so maybe worth considering.

Have you thought about test driving an sri at your local dealer? maybe worth saying your interested and at least then you would know yourself what comparison?

Neither I or swedish carmags agree with that .... esp. with the SRi suspension. Its one of the better cars in its class.
Finished 4 both total and in the elktest in a 17 cars test a couple of weeks ago here in Sweden. The ESP didnt cut in early like in many other cars either ... do to ESP calibration and a good chassi.

That sounds like a plan, I have no idea how to change the suspension on a vectra but I've got to be looking at a few hours at least. At least I'd know if it's worth doing or not, I'm not encouraged so far though if they still understeer badly

Sri suspension just fits straight on. I had the same issues with my Elite and even sri springs have sorted it out perfectly.

Doesn`t understeer badly, but it is there, but nothing likr the soft suspension, doesn`t wallow either as the elegance I drove did ...
