    Default Gearbox oil

Hi,I'm thinking of changing my gearbox oil...cars done 55k...sometimes feels a bit roiugh/stiff others smooth n silky.

What the consensus?..Worth doing or a waste of time?

    Big job or easy enough?

The F40 gearbox is notorious for its stiffness/notchiness/clunkiness, particularly when cold. I wouldn't have thought changing the oil at 55,000 would make any difference. Maybe it's the cables that need adjusting or there is too much oil (a lower level was apparently used by VX later on) in the gearbox?

This is where the good old Haynes manual comes in handy. Might be £20 well spent?

Yes, all the CDTIs and most of the petrol cars have the F40 6-speed box, just with different ratios.
