    Default HID's

i know there are tons of threads on here about hid's... but i couldnt find what i was looking for.

i have hid's in my dipped beam (h7's) and im wondering if anybody has put them in their full beams? and also their foglights?

i need to know what bulb size to get for the full beam (ie h3/h1 or whatever)

for the foglights i was wondering.. im on my second set of hids for my dipped beam as the first set didnt always turn on first time (faulty wiring) and i read somewhere that someone had put their old h7 hids into the foglights? does this work/is it a direct fit?

    cheers for any help guys

    H3 for your fogs.

HIDs in your high beam will be a waste of time because of the delay in them lighting up. How will you be able to flash someone out of a junction or warn someone of your presence if you're waiting for the main beams to come alive?

Oh it works - I just had to strip with plug off the end and attach the fog light plug instead. They all work off 12V so there's no issues, and the cancellors stop the bulb warning. I've got the VXR fogs which take a completely different design of bulb (have got a right angle and weatherseal on them...) so I just trimmed the back of the foglight and araldyted the bulb in place to both attach and seal it...

    Sorted...

As for the main beam - even cars with factory fit xenons have a normal bulb for main beam. If the car has Bi-Xenon (like the vectra) then it simply opens a shutter in front of the xenon bulb where it would normally cover half the bulb. It also puts on the normal bulb at the same time. This is a legal requirement.

ahh i see, so you think it would be a better idea to use my old h7's for the foglights instead of getting an hid h3 kit??

Only needs a bit of modding to make the connections work and saves 70 squid on a new kit, so yeah it's definitely worth a try...
