Default Help, my Heater Has stopped working

    Hi you guys,
I have a Vectra 02 2.2 elite. Loving Female owner.

A bit of a long story but you will need to see full picture.

On Boxing day, cleared snow etc from car, washed windscreen with cool water to get rid of ice, lots of ice. Put on heater all working ok, then all of a sudden it started to struggle and just cut out. It has not worked since.
I have looked on sites for answers but not sure what to look out for.
Called out auto electrician who is unsure himself and had a code of B3916??

Really need the car to work, pretty broke at the moment. Have read it can be resistor or motor, any suggestions where to take it to instead of vauxhall directly. Can I fix it????????I live in Manchester.
    Thanks

Snow might have blocked the drain holes by the pollen filter, and water might have then got onto the resistor pack. it is situated on the side of the motor. I belive you can buy the resistor pack from VX, a good mechanic should be able to repair it for you.
Have a look at this thread, it might be of help.

hi sorry to hear of your predicament

B3916 NO communication with alarm siren
(0r) not present= so not related to your heater issue

have you checked the fuses - i know its a silly thing to ask but if it was sounding like it was struggling more likely to have blown a fuse or burnt out

0-Large smile ......every time it's driven

Thankyou for your advice. Fuses were checked but they seem fine. If it is the resistor, is it something I could fix? Or am I best taking to a garage?

I did this just recently. Think I'll do a 'How To....' guide for it as a lot of people seem to have the problem.
