Hi There - First post so bear with me
Firstly - I have an:
Elm 327 1.2a (Original)
Fully registered copy of Vauxcheck (I have a Corsa C also)
Copy of EngineCheck LE to trial (direct from Gendan)
I'm trying to connect to the ECU on a Veccy C 1.8 2002 "Half CAN" model - but it is *the* most stubborn car I've connected to I've worked with Citroens, Volkswagens, Skodas and other Vauxhalls and I just cant get this car to connect!
Basically I know there are a pile of fault codes in the car (doing the manual brake/acellerator method) but I just want to clear them all down, take the car for a run and recheck for active codes.
Now with the problem:
Vauxcheck is *not* compatible with this car, got it direct from Gendan - because it is EOBD compliant the software only talks the proprietary Vaux Language. Although a new version is scheduled for 2010 to fix this. I had been suggested to try EngineCheck LE So I have, this is the error I get:
Port open OK
Found interface ELM327
Connecting to car...
Connection failed. Error Type: No Data Error
And that is only if I select the CAN 29bit 500kbaud setting, the dash cluster pings and flashes the ABS light momentarily when it connects at this point aswell (I suppose from it crashing and "rebooting")
So Anyone able to help?
I have tried "other" free tools but to be honest I prefer using gendan products, low cost for the home user, and much more professional and does what it says on the tin.
I know I can go back to Gendan, but I wanted to know if this is common on this model and if theres a"Trick".
Sorry for the War and Piece! Just wanted to make sure the facts were there!
