Well, hello all my lovelies!!!
Sadly all things come to an end, and after much hype and excitement the Drinky holiday officially finished in the wee small hours of this morning.
I probably should be in bed - have had about three hours sleep, but am buzzing, and the lure of my Vec - C mates was to much to bear!!
I am pretty sure I speak for all of us (the rest of them still in bed due to arriving home about 4am!! ) when I say................
Having not had a holiday in 8 years, we crammed more into a week than I though possible - FAR too much to explain in detail - but brief highlights
:Stayed in Cap Salou (about 2 hour drive from Barcelona) in nice little s/c apartment with fab sea view and pool, few little shops a short walk away and bus fares stupidly cheap so getting around was dead easy.
: Spent a day in Barcelona - stunning city, enormous and beautiful, would need 2 weeks to see it properly, but buzzing with activity and gorgeous architecture
: Took the kids to the Nou Camp, home of FC Barcelona - tbh, I am not that keen on footy, and Chris hates it to the point where he stayed at the hotel instead but even I was impressed by the size of the place, and of course, the kids loved it!
: Port Aventura theme park, a cross between Disney and Alton Towers/Thorpe Park, home of the most stunning roller coasters around. Chris and the boys went on EVERYTHING and then went back for more, (whilst we girlies sat at the bottom being very impressed!!!)
: Cap Caribe - Alton Towers in the water!!! Completely loved this, spent all day riding waves in rubber rings and shooting down water slides. Got burnt to a crisp, bl00dy marvellous!!
: Salou town - kind of a 'Costa del Brighton' - a bit cheesy and touristy, bt wall to wall shops selling pretty well anything from traditional holiday tat to some pretty good local bargains, and one of the nicest cleanest beaches I have ever seen and a huge variety of places to eat.
: Our 'baby girl' celebrating her 13th birthday on holiday and a fantastic birthday meal out in Cap Salou, including a rather yummy paella, at a price to feed 5 which would normally have only bought us Mc Donalds!!
Had a couple of delays in the flights going out and coming back home, but had far to much fun to care!! Possibly in hindsight would have arranged a holiday without all the airline reps and entertainment (which we didn't get involved in at all!) in favour of finding our own way around, but otherwise DAMN GOOD!!!
Going to stagger back to bed for a few hours, then will finish downloading my photos - may well post a few for a giggle later!!!!!!
