Default Help most definitely needed - locking wheel nut removal gone wrong

Hello all, I have screwed up big time.

Copuldn't get enought torque on my locking wheel nut - thought I hammer a socket onto it to remove it - ponly to realise there is a spinning collar on it.

Anyone know how to remove a socet from the nut when it's still on the wheel.

    Please please help......

    Thanks

Is the socket still sticking out from the wheel, Is it possible to get some mole grips (the type that lock) on the socket and pull. Put some wood or anything that will protect the wheel and lever against it.

The socket is almost flush with the wheel. Have been thinking about a slide hammer - how would I get it to attach to the socket - there is only the small square hole in ths socket.

    I'm starting to panic now....

    Thanks again
