    Default Alloys & Tyres

I had a slip on some ice which caused the car to slide and hit a curb, side on to the alloys. Now i have quite a bad wobble on the alloys, so ive come to the conclusion that there wrecked.

On a good note though i have now bought some 18' aftermarket alloys. Now, this might sound like a dump question, but, what tyre sizes will fit on them? The only info i have is this 7.5x18.

When i buy tyres normally i just get the tyres that were already on the alloys, but as these have none, bit confused as to what to get.

    Thanks
    Ian

Would either set of these fit, 235-40-18. 245-40-18.

Reason i ask is a mate is selling some.

the vectra 18s should have 225 45 18 tyres mate i think 235 or 245 would be too wide for 7.5 wheels

i did the same thing at the beginning of the year which resulted in a nasty wobble.

have you had the suspension and such checked?

i had mine checked out and i had bent the track rod end (think thats right).

Your right, 225 40's are fine but they are not the correct size for 7.5 x 18" wheels for Vectra C/Signum.

Forget the 245's in any profile. But 235 40 18" tyres are the correct fitment for Vectra VXR on 8" rims, but a 235 40 tyre is OK for a 7.5" rim.

Spot on, if you want to keep things right to VX spec, 225 45 18" tyres are the spot on tyre for a 7.5" rim. But 235 40's would be a good compromise if 225 45's were not available.

Tell me about it, I hit a slopped kerb and belt the strut, track rod and knuckle and knackered the wheel bearing.

    It was an expensive mistake!
