    Engine : 3.0 CDTI

    Default 3.0V6CDTi - Oil Cooler

Might seem like a dumb question to some of you, but does the 3.0CDTi have an oil cooler? I'd like to have a cooler to keep the oil around the 110°C mark or is this a bit too optimistic?

    Feedback well appreciated

Yes there is an oil cooler on the front of the oil filter.

    Good. That makes things easier.
Can I replace it with a more "powerful", bigger unit?

I don't realy know. You can't see the top of the filter unless you take the radiator out.

I don't see any benefit to doing so as the engine should be pumping the oil through it at a predetermined rate
Equally, VX don't seem to do a larger one
Adding a larger one may have consequences as the oil capacity will increase and the oil pump may not be strong enough to cope with the increased pressure

Is it a heat exchanger-thing or a proper oil cooler?

It looks more like a simple heat exchanger (matrix)
    Search google for : 13106816
I originally thought it was part of the air conditioning system!
