Advice??

I've got the standard CD30 headunit in my 2005 2.2 SRi but quite like having an aftermarket headunit. Only problem I see is that the trip computer is integral to it so if I replace the headunit will I loose the use of the comp? Also the steering controls?
I'm also torn between maybe a flip screen or double din unit?
Thoughts or advice??

yes you will loose the trip comp
you might be able to get a old display upto 04.5 and change the wires around and get the comp this way and have a nicer looking display(have a word with bigmac for the wires to be changed)
depending on what hu you get you still can have the steering wheel controls

I had the CD30 and replaced with JVC DD unit and steering controls from connects2 and my trip computer still works fine. I can also change time and date from steering controls... Here is a link to what I bought... HTH

Now thats a good deal might be temped with that myself but think I might have to wait till the new year though

If you have BC functions already working, then these will continue to work, but only via the steering wheel controls..

You will need to get a converter loom that is headunit manufacturer specific to allow the head-unit to be controlled from the same steering wheel controls.

For clarity of others reading, it must be assumed that you have the Graphic Info Display (GID).

Most CD30's come with a Triple Info Display (TID) with the pixel writing, and as far as I am aware, the TID cannot be made to display the BC (board computer) functions.
Also the TID has the clock setting buttons built into the screen bezel.
