    confused Strange Wiper Fault

Today my wipers appear to have changed their home posistion.

Instead of laying flat ie at 9.00 o,clock from the Driver Seat view, they now stay at 12 0,clock, they work normally in every respect other than the home posistion being 12 o, clock which is very off putting when they are not in use. any of you have any idea of what is going on, many thanks

    Default Simple check

Take a look at the bracket where it fits to the motor itself.Should sort of point directly to front drivers side wing.If not most prob the nut has come loose moved the bracket then sort of gripped again. There is a How to on changing wiper linkage on this site just search and you will see a piccy of what i am talking about.

wiper motors are common on these, im sure you can just buy the motor without linkages though

Mine play - up every winter when the outside temperature drops to around freezing or below...there are several posts on here with guys similar experiences.. check in Search....I tap the wiper stalk down to until they get to the normal parking position.

When the car has been parked up for a while after a run, they work normally again until next time the temperature gets down to freezing of below again when the car has been stood for some time.......

The car is a 55 reg Facelift Club Hatch with the Z18XE pre VVT engine....

Were they frozen to the screen when you went ot use them? they may have slipped on the shafts due to operator error!
Now I need a turbo to keep up!

Many thanks for all your thoughts, turned out to be the bracket that connects to the motor itself.

It had spun on the shaft 180 degs think it probably happened whilst trying to get rid of Snow from the windscreen.

Repaired at no cost other than my time I like those sort of repairs

    Thanks again
