Default looking to mod a 1.8sri Navi

hi guys im new to the site, ive had my 1.8sri navi for about 2month now and want to slowly start changing afew things on it, 2 of the main things id like are abit more power and a nice purr when driving, i dont want to drop a new engine in or change car so the 2 main things i could think of were a decent induction kit (id like to know whats best, how much they are and wether they need to be proffesionaly fit) and an exhaust system (leaving the cat on, i was quoted for £260ish for a powerflow from the cat back i think) would either of these give me any improved performance or is there better (cheapish) ways to get some more performance out of my car and for it to have a nice sound while driving?

they are the two main things you can do for abit more power and noise, when you have done them look at getting it re mapped, that should give you 20 more horses alone, hope this helps

Very expensive, but in the total VX mag - Dbilas say they have a new inlet manifold capable of a 38bhp incease, for the 1.8 petrol ??

Think this is true ? I guess so as Dbilas are quite a well respected tuning brand....

how much is that? i thoguth about a remap but ive been told it disables all or alot of the safety features which i dont want... ive herd afew people talking about square air filter which sits in teh filter box as aposed to a cone filter, can anyone advice which is best and how to get maximum potential out of it (also the costs?)

how much is the inlet manifold and will it affect the car in any other way other than more power?

Just took another look in the mag, it definately says it increases the power by that much and its just shy of £900 !!! Silly price.

I cant imagine it effecting the engine in any way, im not too sure really.

If this is true, that and a remap would see some nice gains !

ouch, bit much for me at teh minute :|, do you know if remaps do remove safety features and things? i was told nto to get a remap and instead get a turbo

and do you know which induction kit would be best to get? i was thinking about poping into halfords and seeing what they have but id rather get as good as i can for a reasonable price

    try Cartech tuning services,,

    07916 302 007.

any tuning to see much improvement will be expensive, Car tech charge about 300 for a remap, AND they come to you,,
a lad I know down south has had 1600 quids worth of tuning on his 1.8,,fast road cam, remap plus other stuff I can not remember, not been on a RR yet, the improvement was not worth the cost, but it is very nice to drive.BUT,,,, YOU CAN'T BEAT CUBES
