    Default swirl bar

i there i have just bought my new vectra estate 1.9cdti sri 150 on a 06 plate and love the car i am quite handy at diy mechanics and was very familiar with my old mondeo tdci and i cleaned and blanked off the egr cleaned out inlet manifold and done a diy decat.

on the vectra i have done the airbox mod and cleaned out all the leaves in there def improves accelration, also i have cleaned the boost sensor thanks to the how 2,s on here. the boost sensor was flithy.

is it easy to clean the egr valve the car has done 64000 miles. and how to i check the swirl pots??? i have read on here that they are common to go so what do i need to take off and check to see them??? any other mods i can do on my own that cost nothign or more cleaning???? thanks guys hope you can help

The EGR is handy removed and cleaned, there's a geat how to aswell. The swirl pots/bar is easily checked to see if it,s still attached to the Manifold, just in behind the glow plugs, that's if you have the 19 cdti, but if I was you I wouldn't touch the Manifold unless theres a problem,my car is going like a pig from I got work done..I used to love my car aswell, but no more..can't wait to get shot of it...sorry to be so negative at this festive period

lol, I see you have the 1.9 All you need to do to check the swirls is lift of the engine cover, look in the middle at the top and you will see a bar with numerous angles, connected to the pots. If the bas is still attatched then its working fine.....
