    Default Trouble starting

Lately the Vec has been taking ages to start when it's been left overnight or while ive been at work. You can hear it trying to turn over............

The glow plugs are heating up fine and the alternator is charging but i have no idea what could be causing it

I've been using sainsbury's and shell diesel and the eml shows up when the car starts but goes off a few seconds later - this only started to appear when the manifold was changed.

the battery is fine as well

If it's doing this on the cold starts only... then that does usually indicate a faulty glow plug

My light was staying on for a couple of minutes,I had one dead plug no.3 and the other three seemed to be weak,so I changed the lot but the light still comes on now when the ignition is switched on and goes out as the car starts up.

Sainsbury are still apparently using summer diesel as it's cheaper. It hasn't got the antiwaxing ingredient which if used in the winter, will cause fuel filters to block.

nobody would sell fuel to the general public at these temperatures without the additive!, i think youl find its put in automatically at the refineries regardless of who's buying it.
