GSF or Euro Car parts will be cheaper. you can test them by measuring the resistance through them, show be low, if high impedance then they are rubbish. To be honest its best to change all four.
I'm Interested in changing my glow plugs, as I think one, or more, is faulty as I get spanner light when starting from very cold. Plus car starts on two/three cyclinders on recent mornings.
Need to check resistance readings.
Is there a recommended technique for removing them without snapping them??
I had a glowplug in my astra that just spung because it had snapped internally, would have needed head off and glowplug drilled out, hole re-coiled. I think there are some techniques to get it out without taking head off but I don't know how successful they are, plus you got to watch nothing falls down the hole into the cylinder.
In the end, the astra started fine on the remaining 3 glowplugs so I just left it.
I would soak them with WD40 each day for a few days before trying to remove them. WD40 should evaporate and shouldn't cause any problems if some gets down into the cylinder. Is there a recommended technique for removing them without snapping them??
