    Default Winter Trouble

OK. I cant get my car off our road , everyone else seems to be managing it fine.

When i am trying to get up the road the clutch is fully out in first but I am being told that the wheels are still not spinning?

    Isnt there something wrong here...??

    Any Thoughts please

FYI, this Vectra C has had a replacement engine(refitted poorly) and a replacement gearbox in the last 5 months

If the clutch is fully out and the wheels are not spinning then you have big trouble and it won't go anywhere even if it wasn't icy! You will hear them spinning. Even with TC they will spin. I suggets its your efforts that are failing and not the car.
Now I need a turbo to keep up!

whats the driveshaft for , people have mentioned to me it might be the driveshaft?

Also everyday when i pull out clutch fastly there is like a knock under the hood somewhere. I jsut figured this was the loosly fitted air filter box?

I think you need to speak to someone local who knows what to look for. The driveshaft goes from the gearbox to the wheel. If its missing where did it go? When did it pop out. This will be very very difficult to diagnose without seeing it.

if the clutch pedal is fully out and the car is in gear i suspect you have burnt out the clutch plate as you have no drive - i take it the revs increase on attempting to pull away - maybe the "knock" on pulling out of junctions quickly was signs of clutch wear /warp

do you have any burning smells when your trying to pull away (again clutch plate wear)???

could be a problem with the slave cylinder for the clutch, id like to assume a new clutch was fitted when the engine was put in?

Maybe the neighbour was staring at the rear wheels?
