Default Are those illegal in the UK?

I'm just wandering are those radar laser detectors illegal in the UK?

    Ebay link - click

Does any one here have one ? How effective these are?

    Thanks

Not sure about that specific model but my understanding is that laser detectors are not illegal. I think its only the devices that try to confuse/block the police laser are illegal because its trying to pervert the course of justice or something.

IMO laser detectors are pointless. By the time that thing beeps to say you've been lasered, your foot won't even have moved yet and the police will already have your speed reading. I used to own a radar detector and it picked up more Tesco automatic doors than it did speed cameras.

I drive 30k miles a year and find a sat nav with camera positions and paying attention to the road is effective enough.

I too use a satnav with a camera data-base, fixed and mobile, updated daily.

In some parts of Europe this is banned and the satnav can't be used unless the camera feature is completely turned off.

Although I stick to speed limits, I'll not lecture anyone else for not doing so, that's their concern - but I do think it's hypocritical to speed AND try to avoid getting caught.

It was my understanding that anything that spots a camera is a no no. But anything that tells you where they are like GPS is ok

Those sort can give you a lot of false alarms, you're better going for a gps based unit,i've used snooper s4's for years and never had a problem.
