    Default MP3 Laptop problems

    Hi Guys

I wonder if anyone can help me, i have loaded all my CD's as MP3's onto a laptop with the intention of playing them through media player into my amp and out through the speakers.

I have used the headphone jack to get the signal out using a jack to RCA lead, the problem that i have is that the signal is very weak and i have to turn the amp up to max to hear the songs.

Does anyone know if there is a better way to get the sound off the Laptop ie by using the USB ports or the Firewire ports or maybe the PCI slot?

My laptop is a Toshiba and has all these and i am connecting it to a Denon ACR1706 7.1 amp this has RCA in's Optical in's Coaxal In's and Digital In's.

Any help or suggestions would be really appreciated

    Cheers

    Shaun

    Hi,

Have you turned all the volume sliders up in the volume control panel under start > All Programs > Accessories > Entertainment?

I have had the same, if you turn all the volumes to the max, apart from the master, this should sort the problem.

    HTH,

    Mark

failing that get a decent sound card... the standard built in jobbies just aren't up to the job at all!
you can get a usb sound card with RCA outputs on... if i remember rightly the Creative Extigy range should do the job.

I'm with Phatty, go for a decent USB external sound card, the ones from Creative are great value and sound great too.
