Default Help with a Themostat Housing

Tony, welcome along and hope you get what you want from the forum, what thermostat housing is it you want as I see from your profile you have a 2.0lDTI and you say you found information on a 2.0lDTI a little confused, however I have moved this post to a new thread and when you log on simply ask the question in this part of the forum and hopefully you will get the responses you need.

Hi Paul, thanks for your offer of help.
Following the recent spate of temperature guage posts, i think my Thermostat is also Donald Duck-ed.
Have searched How 2's and done forum search, but dont find anything specific to the 2.0DTi.
Haynes gives procedures for removing the thermostat and housing complete, but gives no info about repair/replacement.
So does the thermostat and housing have to be replaced as a complete unit?
    Can it be repaired?
If replacement is required what is the part no please.
Also interested in air box mod. Is it really just removing the funnel inside it??
    Thanks for any help,
    Tony

Thanks for the welcome and info bigmac.
Might have know it would be expensive.

Also looking at air box mod. It seems simple to do.
Found a how 2 that might be right, But the link appears dead.

I ordered full housing from my normal motor factors. when it came they looked at it and said they recognise the thermostat they ordered a quinton hazell QTH600K went it arrived took the one out of the housing and it matched. But I know nothing about mechanics. I took it to my garage and it fitted fine in my old housing.

Tony, look at this thread the airboxes are much the same but perhaps if you do yours you could do a How 2 and post it up.

Very clear How 2. Not had a look in airbox yet, but will do so over hols's.
I'm still sure the engine thermostat is knackered.
Checked the glow plugs, 1 reads about 0.6 Ohm, the other 3 appear to be open circuit!
Also have clonking noise from rear O/S wheel area, plus I really notice the harsh ride from the rear when going over bumps.
Contacting dealers tomorrow, car is still under warranty.
