    Default autoglym top glooss

i was going to try meguiars polish , but a mate suggested trying the above, and after polishing the car as normal with super resin , i then applied a coat of the top glooss .and have to say it is pretty good stuff, although you need to leave it on the car for about half an hour, it is weell worth it as it gave the car a rfeal depth of shine,i also bought the autoglym tyre dressing which i must say i was less than impressed with, it doesnt go shiny enough for me so i think ill try armorall or something!

I bought the Tesco tyre dressing the other day.Thought for £2.47 its gotta be worth a try,and if its no good ive only wasted a couple of quid and not a fiver,or more! And i must say it worked ok. Cleaned the vec on sat and the tyres still have a good shine to them.At that price you can afford to pile it on.I thought it worked as well as most other tyre dressings ive tried for twice the price.

I tried the autoglym stuff recently & thought it was ok, then a mate at work parked next to me with his golf gti & his tyres were well shiny so i quizzed him about it an it turns out he had bought & tried the Tesco stuff too It seems quite impressive for the price !

Armor All in my opinion. I use the one in the red can that you spray on. I find it leaves a great shine and doesn't make huge black marks on you if accidently brush against the wheels later on. It is easily directed so doesn't go all over the alloys either.

Yep, the AG Extra Gloss is nice stuff.

As for the Instant Tyre Dressing, to get the shiniest finish you spray it on and just leave it - no rubbbing with a cloth or anything. You may be after a somewhat shinier/'wetter' finish by the sounds of it?

Pogo the nearest Tesco is in Coatbridge, try the Megs NXT wax then a couple of coats of Gold Class wax on your car mate, I find this works a treat on my colour car.. and with yours being silver..

I use Megs Extreme Tyre Gel..........it gives a good shine and lasts for weeks.

Although I do CLEAN the tyres first with AG Engine & Machine Cleaner........you see the tyre turn brown (that's the dirt) give it a quick brush and then rinse and apply the dressing.......as Duncan says leaving it for a while does increase the shine and if left for a while you can then wipe of the excess this prevents "sling".

I also use AG E&M Cleaner and AG Rubber & Vinyl Care on the arches and it just finishes the car off.

    My process is: -

    Rinse (including wheels & arches)
    Wash (paintwork)
    Dry
Then apply Engine & Machine cleaner to wheels, arches and tyres (all 4)
    Then rinse
Then apply R & V care to arches (do not rub just spray and leave)
    Apply wax to wheels
Then apply tyre dressing to tyres
Then it's onto polishing, sealing etc
When finished wipe down tyres and buff up wax applied to wheels

If necessary I would also clay the car aswell

    Bryan

PS do not use the stuff from Halfords in the orange & black tin........it WILL mark alloy wheels
