Default Car took ages to start this morning?

Normally first attempt it starts, and the battery should be fine if only 3 years old?? Its not as if I havent used it all week, used it yesterday?
Took about 5-6 attempts before it started this morning, not happy.......
    Anyone else?

was it turning over quite well, sounds like it was starved of fuel?

As stated it can be a few things, from damp to fuel/ignition probs, but as we all know the winter does place a heavy burden on the old battery.

If it turned the engine over quickly then its probably still good, but the fact its barely 3 years old is not always a guarantee its 100%.

My BMW dealer replaced the Varta battery on my last 3 series under warranty because it was starting to show signs of dying, and it was well under 3yrs old. My cars get changed at 3yrs or less so normally never any problems, That was the first time in many years I've had to have one replaced, at least I did'nt have to pay.

How cold is it as diesel freezes at minus 40 or something... and it is cold outside... no seriously now.. I just looked at batteries for my little clio and some only come with a 2 year guarantee!!! So it may well be near the end of its life. Also you need to check what power outage it gives as the cheap one I ended up buying wouldnt start the car at minus 18!! Wasnt enough amps or whatever after the cold had got in there to turn over a 1145cc engine and its only a week old!

Its a petrol 1.8 so no diesel issues here. Just amazed that it took so long as its never done iy before, and all I can think is that it must have been the battery.
