    Default diy dmf and clutch replacement

    hi all
    i f i leave my 1.9 sri cdti 150 ticking over for around 3-5 minutes i get a pronounced iregularish grumbling sound. if i then press the clutch too the floor the noice stops instantly then returns when i let clutch up.if i am correct in saying i require a new dmf and clutch could somebody explain procedure for doing such a job and also where is best to buy the parts from as i dont want to have to do job again anytime soon just for the sakle of saving a few quid just now.

    Dont know how to replace it but yeah thats the DMF, My mech said its a good couple of hours work with all the right tools.

    I would get a garage to confirm the fault first as the last thing you want to do is replace those two items for no reason, I thought mine had gone and it turned out to be a bent exhaust bracket

    Parts can be got from eurocarparts for about £500, looks a pig of a job as the sub frame has to be dropped. Have a search on the forum someone posted up that they got the job done for around £600 fitted.
