    Default Vectra-C/Signum

Hi All. Please excuse my ignorance, but what is the difference between a Vectra-C and a Signum? Here in Australia the Vauxhall Vectra C is badged a Holden Vectra VC. It comes as a CD, CDX or CDXi - no Signum. Mine is the CDXi, topof-the-range. It's a 2003 model: 5-speed auto with tiptronic, 3.2 V6, full leather, the works. (Hence my log-in name - SeeDeeXeye.) The Opel-badged version of my car is the Opel Vectra-C GTS. In Australia, there were only two power plants on offer - the 2.2 4 cyl (in the CD) or the 3.2 V6 (in the CDX and CDXi). No turbo option. I see that in the UK you guys have, what, four or five engine options? And what is the "Estate"? Cheers.

the main difference is the signum has a longer wheelbase (same as the estate) with a more upright tailgate, the rear seat was designed for 2 people but has a centre seat if 3 are needed in the rear, the rear seats also slide forwards and back as well as sideways

Thanks guys. That clarifies things. So I guess mine is the Vectra-C. Fully-optioned. To my knowledge, Satnav was not offered in Australia. And I don't know what the acronyms CID and TPMS stand for. I will take some photos in the near future.

TPMS is tyre pressure monitoring system and you get a CD70, which is a CD/MP3/BLUETOOTH sat nav with colour screen.

    Welcome too !!

    Any piccies ?

We don't get Signums or Vectra Estates here in Australia. Or Vauxhalls more generally. We used to get the old Vauxhalls in the '50s, along with Sunbeams, Morrises, Austins, Triumphs and Ford Anglias etc). Still get Rovers and Jags. And Rollers and Bentleighs. The mainstay flagship vehicle marketed here by Holden (General Motors Holden - GMH) is the Commodore, in a bewildering array of guises. A recent addition to the marque is the "Sportswagon". Very nice set of wheels too. Vaguely similar in appearance to the Signum. Mate of mine bought a top of range - V8, 6 speed manual, leather seats and trim, all the extras. They also come in a V6 - I think it is a 3.8. I think some of them come supercharged. And I think they now offer LPG as an option as well - dual fuel. GMH also market Barinas, Astras and others too. Plus some SUVs and 4WDs.

Did the Vectra from 4-5 years ago in Australia not come with the 3.6ltr V6 too?
