Default Help needed with induction kit

Well i tried to take a pic but the cameras out of battery and my phones also dead so i drew up a nice little paint diagram for you all to help illustrate the problem.....

Ive just bougt a BMC CDA but due to the way the engines layed out it looks like it will have to sit like this:

My only problem is that will there be any issues with the way the air feed is set up? As it will have to do a 180deg turn to get into the filter?

The other question is, on the end of the air box now there is a little section of tubing with a sensor attached, so i take it i will still need to fit this? I guess it will be measuring the air flow? So will cause a fault if i remove it?

When the camera is charged il get a pic to try and demonstrate a bit better.... If anyone understood that any help would be much appreciated

    Cheers

I should think it will be a breather and you will need to connect it. It will be all right as you've discribed, it just might not be best for power gains. It is a personal thing but I think I would put the air filter before the 180 bend not after but thats me!

I dont understand now you mean Once ive taken the original airbox out i may have more room to play with but at the mo it looks like thats the only way its gonna be able to sit. I would much prefer not to have the 180 bend if i can avoid it but it doesnt look feasible at the moment

Yeah i thought i would probably have to reconnect the thing, will it be alright to put it at the end nearest the engine or does it need to be next to the filter?

I'm not sure, I would put it in as simular position as before. Depending on its purpose you may be able to just get a mini filter specifically for that and then you don't need to connect it....

Ahh... do yo mean one of those tiny ones? I always wandered what they were for

I re-read your last post and understand it now Can i ask why you would put the air filter the otherside of the 180 bend? Would it be more beneficial that way?

Can anyone else clarify about the sensor, or the location of the unit itself?
