    Default Window tints / Insurance

Just a warning to anybody with window tints

Just rang my insurance (Direct Line) about window tints, rear windows no problem (as I thought). If I went and had any sort of tint on front side windows other than 70% (standard Vaux), they would not insure me.
Clear security films are no problem.

Just warning people on here to check their insurance.

What was the change in premium, if any?

I'm with direct line and considering Tints also.

I was told no change in premium, that was to have clear film on front side windows.
They said the rears didn't matter

I'm now with Adrian Flux as well. I can't fault them.

I thought all insurance companies would be the same regarding any front tints?

Check your policy details matey, as they don't always put it back to how it is now. Most just need confirmation of the mods but will repair the car back to Vx standard if the unimaginable happens.

Plus I can't see any insurance company allowing any tint to be put back on the side front windows that exceeds the 70% legal limit. Having said that though, I'm sure you are legal on the fronts if I remember the conversation I had with Colin a while back.
