Default Which Mp3 RDS FM Transmitter (not for iPod) Sounds best....

As title really, I would like to listen to my MP3's in my car (with CDR2005) and I know the transmitter is the best option, but I don't have an iPod and won't get one just for this reason so I am looking for one for use with standard MP3 players and not iPods but I am struggling - can anyone point me in the right direction..???

Any like this will work: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Belkin-Tunec.../dp/B000F37GOU

They often call themsleves ipod transmitters because 'ipod' has become synonymous with 'mp3 player' but all you need is one with the 3.5mm jack (same as the headphone jack) to connect to any player - including ipods.

You can get the dead cheap on ebay, and from petrol stations, but even named brand ones are not expensive. All my experiences however have been that they are prone to interference and sound quality is not great.

PS, an FM transmitter is not necessarily the 'best option' but is probably the cheapest and simplest.

    Here's a cheap one: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/NEW-FM-TRANSMI...item53de9a3b8a

    Cheers for that.

To be honest I keep putting off buying an double din head unit (don't like the look of single din ones) but may just save for one, but for a tenner, those transmitters should do in the meantime.

i've tried a mates transmitter and was really dissapointed with the sound quality dan, no bass or depth.
better off putting the cash towards a new head unit IMO.

EDIT' having clicked on the cheap ebay link i'm gonna get one at £2.47 just to put my psp through the speakers.

    Doh....

Yes mate, bought it before - thanks for that though mate, very good of you. For £2.47 if its cack (and from what you say it will be) its not great shame to chuck it in the bin

I had the Belkin Tunecast one mate in my Astra. Sounded sweet as, but didnt work so well in my Vec. Had trouble finding a sweet spot where reception was good. Stuck a h/u with an Aux in as soon as i could.

You may find you'll get a better reception from it if you unscrew your aerial while using it but its a pain in the rear end mate!
