Heard something about due to the lack of back pressure, turbo over spool. Think that the co2 emmisions increase is an obvious down side... On the positive side though there's the possible increase in performance? And better exhaust note? Also apparently from the info on this site, the mod doesn't effect your Mot.
All this taken into account, It's something I'd like to do to my 2.2dti perhaps with a mid sports box on back to give a little back pressure.

The turbo will not overspool as it it set to run at a certain psi and there is still ample back preassure from the system to keep the engine happy. Why would the co2 emmisions go up?

I have taken away my rear silencer and replaced it with dual exit no back box. Not very loud at all unless you boot it. I'm thinking about taking off the cat an intermediate section next.

Cheers for all the replies, I went up the garage today and its going to cost me £100 for the new pipes with tail pieces. I have got it booked in on monday so i will let you all know how it goes. Im still keeping the middle box on though its just the dual boxes that are going to be removed.
