Exclamation Boost Gauge now fitted !!! .....at last

eventually got my gauge fitted and working fine, although i seen in another thread that at first when opening throttle the gauge reads 20psi then as the revs build up the gauge then drops and levels off at a steady 13-14psi, in that thread the bloke was told this is normal ( mine is doing exactly the same ??

so the question i have is what boost am i actually getting? 20psi or
    13-14psi ???

and also what is the recommended max boost i can set my vectra 2.0 DTi 2002 ? its totally standard ( at the minute ) no mods, chips or remaps??

Hopefully someone can enlighten me and let me know the safe recommended max boost

    Thanks

yes mate its gna peak rather high if its adjusted, and if u change air filters etc u might get wats called boost creep which makes the pressure that bit higher..
but as far as im aware you cant just get an adjustable actuator for these cdti engines its all controled via the ecu, and not alot of garages would put it past what they feel is safe to protect them selfs..

why are you so keen to turn the boost higher?

Try turning the nut on the actuator shaft a few times and see if it differs at all?
