    Default Timing.

    What are the effects of a poorly timed CDTI engine.
    Just wondered as my veccy had the timing belt done before I purchased it and know that if the timing is out it can cause problems.

    Would have thought lots of nocking and banging, and poor fuel consumption.

    I should imagine it soudning more like a big end knock more than anything!

    I'd like to know this myself,before the water pump went on mine the car was a flying machine,doing over 40m/gal,now after having the timing belt changed valves /rockers aswell new EGR the car is pretty dead under 2k revs.it's now doing 35m/gal.

    This is what mine is like.
    Anyone know how much to have the car timing checked, or how to DIY?
