    Default Had a fright today

Took my 10yr old to school today and pulled up as normal, opened door and stepped out and went around to passenger side to let her out as car's were coming down.
As i was near the front of car i heard a loud shout "DAD" i looked at my little girl and her face was a picture of shear panic
My car was rolling down the hill it was moving slowly but was gathering pace so i sprinted after it and open door and jumped in and yanked handbrake up
My heart was racing,i thought i had put handbrake on fully but i couldn't of done
Could never of lived with myself if she had tried to get out and she could of been dragged down the hill.

Dont think the handbrake is at fault as it was recalled but might of been affected by the hard frost we had last night plus me not clicking it all the way up

    So guys be carefull

I only leave it in gear when it's on a slope though, I don't at other times mainly because I forget I've done it and then bunnyhop when I try and start her up!

Glad you got it stopped and all is safe.

I always park with the car in gear and always start with the clutch in, force of habbit. The wife drives a SsangYong Rexton and it won't start if you don't have the clutch fully in. My mothers Hyandai Coupe is the same.
