    Default Tyres

Got to replace a pair of tyres soon, anyone got any suggestions for a good replacement? I'm on 19" Snowies ATM, so we're looking at 235 35 19's..

The car currently has an AVON ZZ3, A Continental, and a pair of buget Mytyres things.. I hate having differing makes on the car let alone on the same axle, I suppose thats what comes from getting an Ex-Hirecar through a dealer.

For years I've ued Goodyear NCT3's and 5's, but I'm not sure if they re 'old hat' now.

I don't want to go budget, but I don't want to pay sill money for a name either..

NCT5's are about the worst tyre you can get. They're overly expensive and handle like driving on ice.

Some people go for Falken's (912's, can't remember the other popular one) if you're on a budget.

My personal recommendation is Uniroyal Rainsport2's - if you can get them in 19" size.

I USED to get tyres at OEM price. The best ones I ever had were Continental Contact. Can't recommend them highly enough.

If you can't (or don't want to) splash the cash (like me) I'd recommend the Kumo "directional tread" tyres. I've got them on the Siggie and they're pretty good. Cost about £75 each for 17"

Forget Goodyear. Especially if you're driving a high torque, high BHP car. You'll shred them in months - even if you're light footed. Great grip but not for very long.

There is a guy on ebay selling new Avon ZZ3's at £395 a set delivered inc VAT for 235 35 19's. Thats what I had on when I had 19's and was really pleased with them.

You did the right thing, they are pure rubbish. Stupid dealer cutting corners.

I use Vredstein Ultrac C tyres on all the corners... superb grip and handling (wet and dry), nice and quiet and hardwearing to. They also have a nice V tread design to them. I bought them from the place in spennny's link...

Yup, another vote for Falkens here. Camskill are the place to go too. Very reasonably priced, and very quick delivery.

+1 on the Falkens. But you can only get 19" rubber in the 452 range. http://www.falkentyres.co.uk/prodtype.asp?PT_ID=53 or at Camskill http://www.camskill.co.uk/products.p...d=m4b0s24p6228.

Falkens are gonna be the cheapest of the branded names. http://www.camskill.co.uk/products.php?plid=m4b0s24p0
