    Default cam belt or chain

    i have vec c 2.0 dti sxi 53 plate can anyone tell me if it has a cam belt or chain .because i had it serviced 4 months ago and he said it had a chain but he also said he done my pollen and air filters and didn't

    they are not a servicable item, so just wait for it to start to rattle
    Now I need a turbo to keep up!

    I think someone told me that they are good for 120k, before need changing, but when they do, better save up it aint cheap!

    With good servicing & no abuse... ie heavy towing or thrashing, the chain should last the life of the motor.
    however if it does become noisey then change it.

    Its so important with chain driven engines to keep up regular oil changes to keep the oil channels free, more important than belt drives.

    My Astra 2.0 dti had 182 thou on the clock on same chain! good Idea to have regular oil and filter changes. I did mine every 10 thou.
