    Default Prestige Car Servicing

Anyone ever used these for their servicing needs ?

    http://www.prestigecarservicing.com/

Vectra 1.8 is due a Main service? These guys quote £215 for a Full service and £136 for an interim. Have only done 5000 miles in the last 12 months

I dont get it? its no cheaper than the stealers??????????????
you could go to a local tax registered garage, and providing they use GM parts still get a samp in the book.....and probably be cheaper....

Is this the organisation that collects your car, services it at somewhere unknown and then returns it?

Our local independent only charges £95 for an interim - I've known the partners for over 10 years and the mechanics' faces don't change very often.

Since we all know that labour rates and property costs are very variable across the country, I'd be very suspicious of any car workshop offering nationwide rates.

The only other option is to brave a visit to the Main Dealers As the car is only 2 years old come April next year I really want to keep the warranty in check, good quality reliable garages in SE London are a rare and dying breed.

you dont need to go to the stealers to keep the warranty in check
as long as the vehicle is serviced to gm spec with genuine parts then the warranty is fine

there was a big hoo haa with trading standards about dealers not wanting anyone else to service cars because of warranties but TS basically said tough as long as its done to spec then its fine

Why is it a brave option to go to the dealers? Some people are so short sighted on here. All dealers are not going to rip you off.

I hate the phrase 'Stealers' as it is so unjustified.

The company you linked, probably act as middle men, I bet they take your car to the cheapest local garage and charge you £100 on top as their profit.

Dealerships on the other hand, are intent on driving the "guy under the arches" mechanic out of business. Not only are they making cars which require huge outlay in the form of specialist tools/equipment (which small garages can't afford) but they also feed you a load of bull about maintaining the warranty and service history too!

People on here don't call them "stealers" for no reason.

Another short sighted comment. I don't know of any dealer that I have dealt with in the past 5 years that have stated that you HAVE to go to them to maintain your warranty.

Thats with, Audi, Land Rover, Vauxhall, Ford and VW.

All of them that I have used state, and I quote " as long as the garage used is VAT registered and manufacturer approved parts are used, your warranty will NOT be invalid.

Calling them 'Stealers' is just plain ignorance. Dealers know that if they intentionally mislead a customer it could lead to their franchises being stripped.

Very well said, my small service at my dealer was £130 and the main service inc brake fluid change was just over the £200 mark inc VAT. Not exactly the work of 'Stealers'
