Default CID in SIGNUM 2003 ?

    Hi ALL !

I have a simple question: the CID (format 16:9) from Vectra-C (2005) can be fitted in a Signum 2003 ? First is full CAN-BUS, second I think half CAN-BUS.

Which head unit are you connecting it to...ncdc2013, ncdc2015 or CD70, DVD90?

There is no definate information that full can and half can radios and displays can be cross matched.

Technically it should be a matter of re-configuring the display unit wires (Note the can-bus wires on pins 17,18 (full can only), 19,20,22,23,25 and 28 are the same across the board.
But the power, ground, and synchro wires are different
Also full-can CID will not have the brown/white diagnostic wire on pin 14.

Also the consideration of tech 2 programming?

CD70 in the near future, for the moment only for BC.

I saw on schematics, no problem for re-configuration.

Okay...this should not be that diifcult...(famous last words)

CD70 and CID... I would use an SOT lead from Autoleads or Complexsolutions ( Sorry, didn't realise your location - or your local telemute lead supplier) to make up an adapter lead.
You will need to re-jig the wires in the ISO block to configure the power supply etc.

You will need the facelift vent / surround assembly as the screen hole is different. You will have to grind the top flat (about 3mm from the entire top edge) to remove the rounded profile of the suround...the facelift surround is also 3mm too tall otherwise, and you won't be able to clip your trim strip back unless you do this.

You will need to get a radio aerial converter plug - ISO to Fakra.

The one concern could be the airbag circuit...I have heard that the full can radios may not support half-can air bag circuit. But I don't know for sure...just a rumble on the grape-vine.
To be lazy, I would leave off pin 25 from the CID 32 pin plug.

Don't forget to change your wheel controls from buttons to rollers etc.

    Good luck!

After a few research I found the schematics of MSCAN from 2003 and MSCAN from 2005. The difference is model 2003 have two MSCAN BUS and model 2005 have three MSCAN BUS. #Robsey tell us the true about pins 22, 23 and 19, 20 and newer 17 ,18.
However if I change the ECC module, must work ?

    CristianTM.
    PS. MSCAN = MidSpeedCAN

I think that this should work by adding pins 17 and 18 and wiring to your ecc module to suit.
