Has the paint dried? as this will make it more difficult to remove. Have you tried white spirits or paint brush cleaner. As it is not on the metal paintwork these products might be of help. If you do try them, then it might be a good idea to wash the area down with soapy water afterwards to remove the white spirits/paint brush cleaner. Both of these products I would keep off the metal paint work.

Maybe a stiff brush with a lot of hot water and soap?

the only problem with the scuttle cover is that its an untreated plastic area - which no doubtedly will absorb all manner of muck/grease paint etc thats thrown at it - best advice would be to remove and attempt to clean - if no good then a trip to the scrappy would be the cheapest option

I would take it off the car before I tried to clean it. Do you know who did it and why ? The worry is they could strike again. A woman scorned ?

WOT IS WRONG WITH PEOPLE THESE DAYS. BRING BACK HANGING.

If its only black plastic, you could try nail varnish remover, AVOID PAINTED AREAS, i used it on back windows and rear lights after it came out of bodyshop with overspray on it... Be careful though...

if it's only emulsion just soak it over and over, or stick it out in street when it's raining (usually everyday recently) the paint will then go soft, then blast i with a pressure washer. Are you certain its emulsion not masonry paint etc.

Hi,Yes it is definitely emulsion,i was lucky if you can call it lucky that it was done when there was heavy rain all night.I used a steam cleaner when i was at work, but it didnt remove it on the plastic completely although it is faded.Regards Martin.
