Default Vectra Sri 3.0 CDTI drivetrain shunting issues

    Hi

I'm now on my second Vectra 3 litre manual diesel - love them for pulling the caravan etc.

This newer one (30K) seems to have an annoying drivetrain shunting type problem. Difficult to explain - but when I am trying to drive in slow traffic and I take my foot off or put it back on the accelerator I get a shunting type feeling as if there is a shot engine mounting - this doesn't happen all the time so is difficult to show the VX garage.

I'v had the engine upgraded to all the latest revisons in case it is a software issue with fuel pump etc.

    Any ideas out there please?

It may be the dmf recoiling if that is shot with a lot of movment.

    Gotcha - thanks!

It is due to go out of its "q" warranty in a few months time so am anxious to get it sorted.

Are there any surefire ways of proving it's the dual mass flywheel at fault - short of taking it out of the car

if you rev the engine when stopped. Then let your foot off the throttle you should hear a clater when it recoils back.

It's under warranty, so get it booked in
If the fault is not found, but continues to appear you can still claim based on the report made during the warranty period

Equally, if they cannot find the fault, demonstrate the fault to the Service Manager

The dmf can also be tested by pressing the clutch in halfway when stopped and in nutural. if it goes quiet then its also a common symptom.
